Day 2

Well, it is as tiring as people say it is!  This day was so exhausting that we did not post until the following morning (obviously).

Day 2 started with Correction.  We did well with this skill and our dogs were well behaved.  We got to work with one new dog and one from the day before.  Miles was much more interested in working with the dogs as he slept through lecture again in the morning.

In the afternoon we learned about Motivation.  It was nice to have the counterpoint to correction!  We then worked with two familiar dogs (giving us a big hint as to who they are considering as a placement for Miles, maybe).  It has been a challenge for us to learn all the commands, learn where to place ourselves relative to Miles' chair, maintain a good attitude, and keep Miles entertained (like the lectures, he did not enjoy just sitting and listening to the instructors).  Commands like "Lap" and "Visit" were Miles' big favorites.  We somehow missed a practice of "Step."
